MAD ABOUT FUTSAL.

That our sport is pure excitement is no surprise to those who have seen a futsal match. The most important thing is to convince other people that ours is the most attractive sport that they can enjoy.

There is no doubt that the Brazilians, besides having players with unique talent, also know how to produce a spectacle with our sport. A year ago they organised a futsal match between the national teams of Brazil and Argentina in a football stadium.

The event was watched by over 56,000 spectators. To put that into perspective, if that happened in our country, considering the football stadiums that we have, it would be the third best attended match that weekend after those held at the Nou Camp and Bernabeu.

There is no doubt that it was a great show and a boost for the sport in Brazil. However, not content with this, they are now going to organise another game of this size in a stadium which hosted the World Cup in Brazil.

The ingredients are top quality and involve bringing together Brazil with their local hero Falcao, together with the best player in the world right now who is none other than Ricardinho, who will play with his national team Portugal.

A first class spectacle that will surely be of interest to all the home fans, who want to see this first class duel. The shame is that this type of event is not held in Spain.
Surely such initiatives will be of interest to fans, and through them futsal could reach many more people to try to get them hooked on this beautiful sport.

It remains to be seen which agency or private company or club is capable of organising an event such as this, in order to try something different than usual. So that we come out of our comfort zones, and so that we're the ones that encourage this type of entertainment.

Recently the European basketball championship finished, and the truth is that the following was massive. Viewing figures were reached that had not been seen before, and that's because somehow they reach far beyond their base.

It cannot solely be due to the fact that we have a winning team in this sport, because like the basketball team, we in futsal are multi champions of prestigious events. There is no doubt that something will have to change to have this massive impact.

In a few months we will be able to see the comparison with basketball, because the European championship will begin where Spain is the favourite. Unfortunately it is expected that the following will be much smaller, and we will not have woken that enthusiasm that basketball generated.

It is a healthy envy, but for those who make the decisions within our sport, who try to turn our situation around, they will have the help of the national team to put on a spectacle on the pitch.
Very often you have to leave the established protocols and be bold when it comes to managing these events. I think we have everything in place to make a small leap, and try to approach the following that basketball has.

If we continue as we have done up to now, it is clear that we have not won the argument. Let's be bold and try to innovate in everything around us.
I'm not saying it's easy but surely with eagerness and daring we can achieve much more
