We define warm-up as the set of activities carried out to prepare the body for an activity in order to improve performance and prevent injuries. Sports practice shows us that warm-up is a part of training oriented towards the achievement of results, since it contributes to the functional selection of physiological parameters that are called upon during sports performance. Its characteristics will vary depending essentially the type of sport, the individual and the weather.

The main objectives of warm-up are:

-preventing injuries

-harmonising the functional systems that contribute to performance

-acquiring an optimal state of psychophysical and motor preparation

-improving performance

In sports activity, we can distinguish different types of warm-up that are classified based on their different focus.
